well its not a rumour I believe, Thats what Dater has reported from what he has learned and I think it makes sense when you think about it.

Pickard sucked last year, no one is going to pick him anyways. There are way better younger goalies available Varly is still the number 1, the guy already is a mental midget so to expose him, not get selected, then ask to be the number 1....that would mess with his head.

But if they do pick Pickard that saves them from losing Grigorenko or Andrighetto, Barberio etc. I think they would rather keep those guys.

If the open up a G position I bet they go hard after Darling to challenge the net from Varly. I dont hate the move bc Pickard is not a starter, hes just a decent backup

He didn't have a great year but he will bounce back with a better D corps in front of him. His first two years were the norm and last year the outlier imo

Avs are still going to be bad next year, but try to get the right assets in place so they can really have a boat load of youth ready in 2 years

I dont know what else would be involved, if any would be, but I think that 2 for 2 swap would be the foundational of any trade.

Really the 2 teams have the pieces to really help out one another and they dont have to try to fleece one another

I think he would really help and excel there. This year really killed his spirit with all the trade talk. I think he just wants to move on, find a place that is his home and reboot this thing. Him with Skinner or Aho...that would be fun to watch.

Fleury would be a solid G to have with this core. Ala Leafs and Andersson this year. Lot of Leafs talk, but Freddy Anderson should get credit for being the glue for that young team.

They are riding with Varly next season. Dont think that is going to change. He finally got surgery to correct an issue that was plaguing him the past 2 seasons. They are taking their shot at him. Which is fine bc they have so much invested in him might as well.

When healthy and not fighting his groin issues he is still a good starter
